YORK MUSTER 2026

The York Muster over the weekend of 18-20 September was a great success. The informal supper at the Hilton Hotel on Friday evening was the perfect setting to meet and greet each other, catch up on what's happened since the last Muster and to welcome those members attending a Muster for the first time. Everyone was up bright and early for our service of remembrance in the Lady Chapel within York Minster where we were joined by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and the Lord Mayor of York and her consort. Both of our guests met the members and their wives/partners after the service and also joined us for our group photos afterwards.
The main event, our Muster Dinner was held in the Merchant Adventurers' Hall where the Lord Mayor was able to join us again. The setting was magnificent, members were captured enjoying themselves in each others company by our photographer and the highlight of the evening was a very emotional and inspiring speech by the Lord Mayor.
Our President challenged the members present to offer locations for Muster 2028 and a useful list of locations was quickly provided such as Bristol, Bath, Jersey and Durham, Cambridge and Sandhurst to mention a few. The Committee will now start the work of understanding whether these locations can offer the resources and facilities we need for a successful Muster. Wherever we end up, it will have to be a great venue to beat the city of York.
The photographs of the entire weekend will be available to those attending shortly and a small portfolio of images has already been uploaded to the website to give all members a chance to see how it went.
