AGM 2020 Cancelled
3rd August 2020
Since lockdown commenced in March, the Committee have held one ‘virtual’ meeting where it was agreed that if the Government had not significantly eased the pandemic lockdown measures by early August then we would cancel the AGM for 2020. Accordingly, based on the most recent Government advice, we have taken the decision to formally cancel any plan for an AGM in 2020. Although our constitution requires us to hold an annual meeting, I believe we can justify not holding the meeting for safety reasons and the constraints on our freedom to gather in numbers.
That said, we have already scheduled a date for April 2021 and hope that by then, our ability to travel and gather for our AGM will be permitted. Please note that several members are planning to conduct the audit of League funds on 13 September and once complete, the accounts will be circulated with the newsletter. I believe it is important to complete the overdue audit for 2019/20.
All members can contact the Committee at any time, please send any messages, for news, help or advice, to the Secretary.
