Aims of the League


The League is a non-service, non-political organisation however many members will be serving or ex-serving personnel from the uniformed services. The League is dedicated to all holders of gallantry medals in the UK and from across the Commonwealth. The main objective of the League is to create, cherish and maintain “esprit de corps” and comradeship amongst League members through the frequent exchange of information and regular meetings on both a formal and social basis. Our other objectives are:

To bring to the notice of the League any cases of hardship and to grant assistance where possible to any Life Member in distress or in need.

To organise social events for League members and to provide assistance to those who wish to arrange meetings and reunions.

To organise celebratory Parades, Services and Musters for the League members as and when applicable.

To provide through the medium of a Newsletter and a website, information concerning the activities of the League and to provide a means whereby members can maintain contact with others in the League.

To encourage awareness throughout the UK and the Commonwealth of the Gallantry Medallists┬┤ League and its history.

To ensure that the activities and sacrifices of gallantry medal recipients are recorded, remembered and made available to this and future generations.
